Partnership - Together We Are Stronger

St. Paul’s Hospital has a long history of community engagement and strong partnerships, and at the center of our many collaborations is our rewarding partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA).

Distinct from the other three Hospitals in Saskatoon that are owned by Saskatoon Health Region, St. Paul's Hospital is independently owned by Emmanuel Health - under the leadership and sponsorship of the Catholic Bishops of Saskatchewan.

Our Hospital has a unique partnership agreement with Saskatchewan Health Authority that was negotiated with the region in 1996, making St. Paul's the first independently affiliated Hospital in Canada to manage health services across the continuum of care in tandem with a regional authority, and in 2015 year we signed a new ten-year partnership agreement with them. This partnership supports our collective vision for a brighter future, while maintaining our leadership in the tradition of Catholic health care that was inspired by the example of the foundress of the Grey Nuns, Saint Marguerite d’Youville.

Together with Saskatchewan Health Authority, we continuously implement improvements and explore new solutions to advance the quality of health care in our province. This partnership makes us a stronger Hospital, and enables St. Pauls to provide expertise and leadership across the Health Region in the following areas:

The Saskatchewan Health Authority manages all other programs at St. Paul’s Hospital, with the Hospital also housing several Health Region administrative offices, including First Nations and Metis Health Services.
