Social Work

The definition of health as originally defined by the world Health Organization states "Health is a state of complete physical , mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity."

Social Workers provide a range of professional counseling and support services within Saskatoon's three acute care sites, and beyond. Services include assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, teaching, consultation, advocacy, referral, client education and community development practices.

Clients are referred through the patient and/or family; nursing or allied professionals; physicians; community agency; as a result of patient care rounds or social work initiated.

For more information or to seek social work assistance call 655-5877.
