Acton Named as St. Paul's Hospital Foundation CEO

Saskatoon (September 16, 2010) - St. Paul's Hospital Foundation Board Chair Barb Berscheid is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Acton as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, effective September 27, 2010.

Mr. Acton most recently held the position Director of Development for the Royal University Hospital Foundation, and prior to that served as the Manager of Marketing and Fund Raising for the Saskatchewan Abilities Council. Well known in the community, Bruce Acton spent many years in television broadcasting as an award-winning promotion, community relations and programming manager.

"Bruce brings not only strong community relationships, and commitment to the legacy of St. Paul's Hospital, but an in depth knowledge and appreciation for the role health care philanthropy plays in improving the lives of those in our community," states Mrs. Berscheid. "He holds the designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), and is a member of the Saskatoon Society of Fundraising Executives, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Government Relations Committee."

St. Paul's Hospital Foundation has raised more than $58 million dollars since its formation in 1982. The Foundation supports St. Paul's Hospital with allocations to capital projects, medical equipment, and furnishings essential for patient care. Support is also extended to Spiritual Care and Healing Arts Programs along with professional development for hospital employees.
